What young people already know
Science trainees worked in three Partnership schools at the end of September as part of our ‘Collaborative Teaching Day’. In each school they had the chance to team teach a class, with a focus on finding out what young people already knew and understood about a topic they were yet to study. They also observed a range of lessons including some exciting KS5 practicals in biology. Young people were all very enthusiastic, and the level of their existing knowledge was a surprise to many trainees.
Many thanks to colleagues in Wilmslow High, Trinity and William Hulme for accommodating us all in what was a very valuable learning experience for trainees. This type of activity happens in many subjects – please let us know if you’d like to get involved.
