Good news from Ofsted
Amanda Spielman, HMCI, is sounding encouraging notes about the need to move away from inspection judgements based heavily on test scores. She is wanting Ofsted to start paying much more attention to the content of curricula, in what she calls a focus on the ‘substance of education’. If Ofsted manage to shift the system a little, away from teaching to the test and towards skills, knowledge and attitudes, that’s very welcome. Read more of her speech if you are interested.
