Association for Language Learning Welcome event for FLAs and NQTs – Saturday, 22nd October, 2016, 11.00-13.15

(Abbey College, 5-7 Cheapside, Off King Street, Manchester, M2 4WG)

This event is aimed at NQTs and FLAs. Three members of the Manchester Association for Language Learning committee (Geoff Brammall, Gina Hall and Paul Wyton) will be offering a variety of activities which you can use in the class room or in small group teaching. Word games, ways of using pictures/flash cards/ Powerpoint/film clips, five minute fillers, getting pupils to use the foreign language in creative ways, ideas for Primary: it’s all there.

There will be 3 training sessions on a carousel basis, followed by light refreshments; the latter will provide the opportunity for participants to have a chat with each other and/or seek further advice/tips from committee members. This event is free of charge to FLAs and NQTs, but participants need to bring plenty of enthusiasm and energy with them!

After the event, there will also be an optional brief tour of Manchester during which Geoff Brammall, a native Mancunian, will introduce participants to some of the sights of our city. Out of necessity, numbers are limited for this, and places will therefore be allocated on a first-come-first-served-basis.

There is no fee for this event, but in order to facilitate catering, it is important that we know in advance if you would like to attend. If you wish to do so, please contact Geoff Brammall to make a provisional booking, preferably by email : geoffbram1@btopenworld.com.
